I am an author, a father, a web developer, a school crossing guard, a home brewer, a huge Cal fan, and a soccer player and coach. I currently day-job at Wells Fargo in Community Support — that is, I enable people to give money to charity and to volunteer in their communities. My job is corporate social responsibility (CSR), and personally I think Wells Fargo is one of the world's leaders in CSR.
This site serves three purposes: First, to introduce you to my writing. Second, to introduce you to my web development skills. Third, to give me a place to share personal items with friends and family (photos, mostly).
I post quite a bit of fiction, light verse, and personal updates on my blog.
My creative writing has been published in Thereby Hangs A Tale, The First Line, and THEMA.
My technical articles have appeared in EE Times, Multimedia Systems Design, and Embedded Systems Development. I wrote a college football column for two years at Scout.com but opted to retire from that to pursue more creative writing.
I have completed three novel manuscripts without trying seriously to sell any of them, and I am actively revising my fourth, tentatively titled Gold Miner's Daughter.
If you are looking for information about my web development work, best to look in the portfolio section as well as my resume. I am available for spot work—small, well-contained projects. I am expert in perl and PHP as well as database, XML, and similar technologies.
